Mirrored Time

MirroredTime-Full
Mirrored Time was a performance designed to expand the psychological space of both performer and spectators. Ten lengths of black satin ribbon attached to a grommeted collar, which in turn supported a cage-like enclosure of mirrors adjusted so the performer was not able to see her reflection, only the reflections of people and objects around her.

Video of the performer was recorded with an iPhone (by an assistant) as the performer walked alone along a predetermined route. Approximately one hour later, a group of spectators was gathered. Holding a miniature projector, the performer walked along the same route while projecting the earlier walk onto one of the mirrors. Spectators following along witnessed duplicate scenarios – one pre-recorded and one live action – blending in time.
