Trinity of Entomophagy: Invisible | Imposter | Immaculate
Taking inspiration from Catholic ideas of Transubstantiation and the Trinity, our offering to the Planetary Sculpture Supper Club focused on the ritual consumption of insects. Specifically, waxworms (actually caterpillar larvae of adult wax moths).
INVISIBLE: ground insects were disguised within the food, but you would never have known if this fact had not been disclosed
IMPOSTER: no insects in the food, but was the vegetarian facsimile of an insect with crunchy/squishy parts more challenging to consume?
IMMACULATE: intact insects were clearly presented as food
